Gachagua claimed to have vigorously supported a candidate he now believes is pursuing policies that jeopardize youth empowerment.
He expressed regret to the people of Kieni, pledging to make political reparations and asking for their forgiveness.
Residents of Kieni Constituency have received an apology from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for what he termed as political errors he made during the 2022 General Election campaigns. Gachagua also stated that he plans to make amends before the next elections.
Gachagua claimed to have vigorously supported a candidate he now believes is pursuing policies that jeopardize youth empowerment.
“During the 2022 campaigns, I made many mistakes which I must correct, and I will stop at nothing,” Gachagua said.
He denounced attempts to ship young people overseas without providing them with the necessary digital skills, calling it “modern-day slavery” and a type of brain drain.

He expressed regret to the people of Kieni, pledging to make political reparations and asking for their forgiveness.
“I once again apologise to the people of Kieni and seek their forgiveness. I will do whatever it takes to join the people of Kieni and many other constituencies, and above all, Kenya’s presidency, in correcting this mistake in August next year,” he said.
Gachagua went on to say that, in his opinion, the person he mentioned was not an isolated instance, contending that this kind of leadership is indicative of a larger problem within the nation’s political elite.
As leaders position themselves in front of the upcoming general election, the statements coincide with shifting political alignments.
Gachagua is now a prominent political figure.
