Professor George Magoha’s funeral has been greatly simplified because to a number of steps the government has taken, according to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

Gachagua announced that the government will give a military chopper to carry the body of the former CS to his remote home in Siaya County during a visit to the late Magoha’s residence in Lavington on Saturday, January 28. The Kenya Defense Forces will oversee the operation (KDF).

Following a call from the family asking for assistance with the planning of Magoha’s sendoff, Gachagua also said that the government would offer financial support.

The Kenya Defence Forces will provide a military helicopter to carry the body home along with family members on the Friday before the Saturday funeral. “The family did request that the Government aid airlift the remains, and we have agreed.

“Once more, the family asked for our assistance in supplying the tent, seats, and other necessary items to accommodate thousands of mourners on that specific day. That request was granted, and the CS Interior received the necessary instructions “the CS declared.

In addition, the government would provide emergency food to locals living close to the former CS’s home, a step that, according to him, will guarantee their comfort throughout the entire period of mourning.

In addition, he added, “our department of special programs will also supply food for the family and the mourning, and in addition, we have also been directed to supply food to all the residents of Gem.”

Additionally, the government designated Information Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo to supervise a team of three officials in establishing a connection between the government and the Magoha family.

Gachagua added that the government was prepared to assist the family in whatever way they needed.

“Three senior government officials—CS Owalo (Eliud), PS Raymond Omollo, and the Chief of Staff in my office—have been assigned to deal with your family. Given that they are your sons, we did it on purpose “Gachagua spoke as the mourners applauded.

Gachagua’s Saturday visit to Magoha’s house included discussion on current issues as well.

The second-in-command reaffirmed to the press that the Kenya Kwanza administration would continue to cooperate with the Nyanza area despite political allegiances.

He minimized Raila Odinga’s declaration that he would refuse to acknowledge President William Ruto as the head of state.

Gachagua said in his statement that the government had no preferences in how it conducted business and would uphold its commitment to aiding all Kenyans, even those in the Nyanza region, which has historically been seen as an Odiga’s backyard.
