Ruto had really chosen Charles Muriuki Njagagua, according to a gazette notice published on Friday, February 10.
Part of the notification stated, “I appoint Charles Muriuki Njagagua to be the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Consolidated Bank Limited for a term of three years with immediate effect.
Confusion about Jaguar’s appointment had been occasioned by the similarities of the two in their names and political career.
Jaguar’s official name is Charles Kanji Njagua, per the records of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
Njagagua – who was appointed to the bank’s board – was Jaguar’s colleague in the 12th Parliament.
The appointee served as a representative for Mbeere North Constituency, having been elected on a Jubilee party ticket in the 2017 General election. Jaguar was also a member of the Jubilee party.
Additionally, the duo also joined UDA after leaving the former ruling party.
While Jaguar failed to clinch the party ticket for the Starehe seat, Njagagua was defeated by Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku of the Democratic Party (DP) in the 2022 General election.
Jaguar is yet to land any appointment in the government.
Njagagua was defeated in the 2022 General Election by Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku of the Democratic Party (DP), while Jaguar was unable to secure the party ticket for the Starehe seat.
Jaguar has not yet been given a position in the government.
