After completing his daily administrative tasks, Mr. John Ogilo Migun made the decision to visit Alleyways Beer Garden Club, a well-known bar and eatery in Kisumu City, for his favorite meal of fried chicken.

When the DJ began playing the hit song Kuna Kuna, Mr. Migun, the assistant chief of the Northern Sub-Location, stood up and started to dance. Several Kenyan artists, including Vic West, Fathermoh, Brandy Maina, Savara Mudigi, and Thee Exit Band, collaborated on the song.

The administrator had no idea that someone was recording him while he danced. As they say, the rest is history after the video was posted to TikTok.

Since the ‘miondoko chief’ has been the talk of the town he claims that things have changed in his life. Since the video of his dancing moves went viral, he has gained notoriety.

When asked where he learned to dance, Mr. Migun responded that he had been doing so on social media.

“I typically watch music competitions on TikTok and television, but I chose to do it my own way and have routines that could support my weight,” he explains.

Since going viral, he acknowledges that he has received numerous friend requests on social media.

The assistant chief says that people have been visiting his office to provide crucial information on security issues ever since the video went viral.

The 38-year-old administrator thinks that because of these changes, chiefs and their subordinates must alter the way they carry out their responsibilities.

“Unlike in the past, where paramount chiefs coulded their subjects, chiefs today are more modern. Someone like me is easier for the youth to relate to, claims Mr. Migun.

He admitted that his wife initially disliked the video before seeing how favorably it had affected his life.

Mr. Migun advised wives to permit their husbands to go out and have fun.

Mr. Migun adds that he occasionally goes out dancing and says, “I want to encourage ladies to let their spouses to go out and relax to make them more productive when they go back home.”

One child’s father has urged parents to support their kids in developing their skills.

“Parents should encourage their kids to pursue their interests, including taking music lessons. Supporting such efforts will help a lot in addressing mental health concerns and giving young people the means to earn money, according to Mr. Migun.

He has pledged to engage young people in the struggle against drug usage and alcoholism
