The Sh800 DNA test kits that are being flaunted on social media should not be marketed to the general public, according to a statement from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board that was released on January 12th, 2023.
Additionally, they urged Kenyans to report anyone who was distributing the kits to the general public.
Part of the statement read;
Customers are encouraged to contact the PPB at info@pharmacyboardkenta.org to report (sellers) if they discover any retailers selling connected goods.
Ezekiel Okweny Is your issue or alert authorization of the product/kit or the kit is not authentic?!If the kit is authentic & your only concern is that you were not consulted, mind your own business till you’re consulted. Main concern of consumers is the authenticity of what they consume.We’ve consumed mercury sugar, afltatoxic flour yet it was “stamped” by the bodies that are supposed to give clean bill of health…The society is/got rotten from the top long time ago.Spare us the supremacy of your the so called standardisation…
Here are some reactions by kenyans:
Nding’ri Muchiri: Tell me how the gear got here. That is how subpar medications are smuggled into Kenya and sold to unwary Kenyans.
Agolla, John Pell: I was aware of it. Kenyan law prohibits the authorization of Sach a kit because uku watu wanaweza uwana. I appreciate the clarity on this from KPPB.
Hall way: Zima hio bhangi, You started offering lab tests recently, stop this insanity.
