There are erroneous allegations on social media that the former Hilton Hotel has been acquired by Pronto Restaurants Group.

According to a statement issued by Pronto Restaurants’ management on January 18 on Wednesday, this is the case.

The chain restaurant corporation made it clear that it only had four locations in Nairobi: Pronto Restaurant Wabera Street, Pronto Restaurant Standard Street Branch, Pronto Restaurant Aga Khan Walk Branch, and Pronto Restaurant Kimathi Street Branch Pronto Coffee House.

“A bogus poster claiming that we have acquired the Hilton Hotel has caught our attention. Please be advised that this is untrue.

On January 17, a number of social media posts implied that Pronto Restaurants had purchased the venerable hotel.

Kenyans’ reactions to the reports were divided, with some applauding the owners for their audacious deed and historical achievement.

In addition to the takeover stories, social media users praised the “Eastleigh community” for their accomplishment, as numerous comments hinted.

Mike Sonko, a former governor of Nairobi, was one among the Kenyans who responded with a social media post applauding the owners.

Congratulations to the tenacious Eastleigh business community for acquiring the Hilton hotel, which is now known as Pronto restaurant, said Sonko.

The Hilton Hotel used to be, and is now, Pronto Restaurant! Another person on social media questioned, “Who is the owner of Pronto Restaurants?

After 53 years of existence and notoriety, the venerable Hilton Hotel announced its departure from the Nairobi Central Business District.

Given its prominent location in Nairobi’s Central Business District and the numerous events that have taken place there, Hilton has made a significant contribution to the city’s landscape.
