Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo died in a traffic accident, according to the DCI investigators, who have rejected claims of foul play.

Witness statements, CCTV footage, and forensic evidence were gathered by a multidisciplinary team, and the results showed that there was no malicious intent behind the accident.

As the DCI advised against propagating conspiracy ideas, the case file would be sent to the ODPP for potential charges against the driver of the tragic Climax bus.
Foul play in the untimely death of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo has been ruled out by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The DCI claims that Jirongo’s death was not motivated by malice as some had claimed.
What conclusions did DCI reach regarding Cyrus Jirongo’s demise?

The driver and conductor of the tragic Climax bus, seven passengers, Jirongo’s first wife, Anne Lanoi, the attendants at the Eagol Petrol station, and the occupants of the Toyota Probox that followed the deceased’s vehicle just prior to the collision were among the parties whose testimonies the agency claimed to have collected.
A multidisciplinary team of forensic scientists from the National Forensic Laboratory, experts from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, and homicide investigators conducted the investigation. Those who had contact with Jirongo on the day of his death, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, would also be questioned.
