After days of online argument, Tanzanian singer Ben Pol has apologized to his ex-wife Anerlisa Muigai.
Through his social media accounts, the singer claimed he wasn’t trying to offend his ex-girlfriend and was simply sharing his real marriage experience.
“I want to apologize for the things I said about my marriage during my series of interviews with Millard Ayo, which started broadcasting on the 13th of January, 2023. My intention was never to hurt but to share my experience of the marriage, an experience I take full responsibility for,” Ben Pol’s apology reads in part.
The singer added that he would be careful in the future when discussing the subject and his experience and that he wanted to express how his failed marriage had damaged his mental health.
“I acknowledge that my ex-wife was upset by my statements, and I sincerely apologize to both her and the general public. While I do intend to keep discussing mental health and sharing my experiences, I will make an effort to do so in a more considerate and beneficial manner, he continued.
The Tanzanian musician stirred an internet uproar last week when he claimed that his marriage was more about showing off than it was about enjoying the true pleasures of marriage.
However, Anerlisa quickly retaliated, telling her ex-husband what was on her mind and telling him to stop bringing up her ex-husband, Ben Pol. She further asserted that ever since their divorce, her ex-husband had been making advances toward her.
Anerlisa even dared her ex-husband to make public the messages he had been sending to her for months following their divorce.
Anerlisa had previously informed her followers on social media that she was “better than that” and that discussing about her ex-relationship was not worth her time.
Anerlisa remarked, “I opted not to discuss about my prior relationship after a long calculated consideration because I recognized it’s really not worth my time.”
The entrepreneur, who said, “I am not your wife and certainly not your friend,” cautioned Ben Pol against talking about her.
Anerlisa went on to state that she didn’t think they would ever get back together and advised the Tanzanian singer to go on with his life.
