It is now possible to learn more about how a man deceived police personnel and escaped from a cell at the Buruburu Police Station in Nairobi County.

Mr. Duncan Omutiti deceived the cops into believing he was ill and needed to leave the cell because he was unable to remain inside.

According to a police record written at the Dandora Police Station in the Buruburu Sub-County, an officer named Mr. Moses Kengere had given Mr. Omutiti, who had been detained for being intoxicated and rowdy, permission to remain outside the cells.

Mr. Kengere, who was working at the report office with Ms. Sarah Kebaso and had been charged on Friday, January 30, 2023, appeared in court that day.

The report stated, in part, that the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) and the Duty Officer had reacted immediately by organizing all of the available officers to look for the suspect.

Mr. Kengere had already alerted his superiors when he was given permission to leave the cells, and arrangements were being made to transfer the suspect to the hospital.

A team of detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is currently scouring Nairobi County for the suspect.

This occurs only three days after two police officers were taken into custody legally when a gun was reported missing while two inmates broke out of their cells.

Two suspects are said to have escaped from the cells as a result of police constables Anjeline Epuro and Christopher Kipchoge leaving the report office and sentry alone.

Between three and five in the morning, the event took place at Shikhendu Police Station in Kiminini Sub County, Transnzoia County.

Chief Inspector Philip Koskei, who oversees the Shikhendu Police Station, reported the incident.
