Gachagua has warned that his safety is now in jeopardy after claiming that his personal security was removed.
Speaking on Monday, Gachagua contended that his prominence and influence still call for state protection, calling the decision to remove his security detail risky and inappropriate.
He insisted that even if he is no longer in office, he should still be protected because of his prominence in public life and the support he receives nationwide.
Despite what he claims to be his ongoing senior status in national politics, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that the government withdrew his personal security and warned that his safety is now in jeopardy.

Speaking on Monday, Gachagua asserted that his prominence and influence still call for state protection and that the decision to remove his security detail was unsafe and wrong.
“I like to inform Kenyans that Rigathi Gachagua is not secure. Despite his senior position in the nation, the government withdrew his security, according to Gachagua.
He insisted that even if he is no longer in office, he should still be protected because of his prominence in public life and the support he receives nationwide.

“He is a senior leader who deserves protection because of his seniority in public service and his crucial role in determining the next presidential election, even though he was removed from office. Millions of Kenyans are behind him,” he stated.
Gachagua asserted that conflicts over the Mount Kenya region and political repercussions with the current administration are the reasons behind the withdrawal of his security.
The former Deputy President claims that the purported strategy included dividing the Mount Kenya bloc in order to reduce its ability to cast ballots in next elections.
He asserted that the action is a tactic meant to reduce his political clout.
Gachagua stated that the objective is “to divide the mountain between Mt Kenya East and Mt Kenya West and sometimes telling Kiambu to get out of the mountain.”
Gachagua claimed that he has become a target due to his political actions in the area, which he characterized as attempts to foster togetherness.
In addition to ensuring his personal safety, Gachagua maintained that his security must be restored because of his prominence and continued participation in national politics.
