In Mumbai, India, during a Ksh1.2 billion narcotics bust, a traveler from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was detained aboard a flight.
The woman was apprehended with 12 kilograms of heroin, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) announced in a statement dated Tuesday, February 14.

The incident occurred just three months after a Kenyan woman was found in possession of a kilogram of heroin at Chennai Airport.
Investigators charged the woman with concealing the illegal substance in her body after she arrived from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Before she was accused and arraigned in accordance with Indian law, she was jailed and the heroin was recovered.
