During Kenya Kwanza’s first 100 days in office, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure was rated as the best-performing member of President William Ruto’s Cabinet.
According to a poll done in Kenya by Infotrak and released on February 28th. There were more than 2,000 participants.
Kindiki was rated as having the best performance in the poll by 27% of participants, followed by Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, with a score of 12%.
Ababu, the cabinet secretary for sports and culture, placed in third place with an 8% approval rating.
While Florence Bore, a member of the Labour Party, and Sakim Mvurya, the secretary for mining and the blue economy, both had ratings of 0.2%, they both received the lowest rating of 0.2%.
Infotrak reports that 452 respondents did not vote for any cabinet secretaries because they believed that none had distinguished themselves enough to merit recognition.
Infotrak reported that “452 failed to rank the ministers because they did not consider any of the 22 to be performing ministers and did not provide a score to them.”
The poll’s results also showed that during President Ruto’s administration, Kenyans’ top concerns included the high cost of living, the poor quality of education, unemployment, and agriculture.
The high cost of living was highlighted by 72% of respondents, while 30% were worried about unemployment.
25% of respondents expressed concern about the nation’s educational system, and another 19% expressed concern about the state of agriculture.
Notwithstanding the numerous difficulties facing Kenya’s security as a result of threats from organized crime and other groups, Prof. Kindiki received a high grade.
After taking office as the Interior CS, Kindiki has traveled the nation to engage with regional security directors and local citizens in an effort to reduce criminal activity.
In contrast, Education CS Machogu, who is in charge of the Ministry of Education, has been constantly in the news.
