Liverpool confirmed on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement to acquire Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will be joining Anfield for the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old, whose move depends on approval to work and international permission, will stay at the LaLiga team for the rest of the season, playing in his 102nd match, before joining Merseyside in the following summer.
British media stated that the agreement was valued at approximately 30 million pounds ($39.77 million).
Mamardashvili had a successful European Championship tournament with Georgia, making it to the round of 16.
He made 21 saves in their three group matches, tying the record for most saves by a goalkeeper in the tournament’s history.
