According to Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, representatives of the Limuru III Conference have decided to assemble a legal team to represent the victims of Friday’s shooting in Thika.
The shooting took place in Thika, Kiambu County, amid a conflict between competing parties on the same day as the Limuru III Conference.
According to Kioni, the crew visited families who had lost loved ones in the shooting to offer their condolences. He remarked that in order to protect their people’s rights, they are assembling a legal team.
“We said that we will assemble attorneys from our Limuru III who will always be available to defend our people because quite some atrocity has been occasioned on the poor,” Kioni stated in a K24 interview on Monday.
“Those who are accountable will be held accountable by us. Because the individuals Kenyans voted for perpetrated that horrible act on their behalf.”
According to Kioni, a 26-year-old Nyandarua man who was shot is presently in critical condition.
A squad of investigators has been assembled to look into the shooting event.
The team requests that all legislators in attendance turn in their licensed firearms for ballistic testing as part of the investigation.
In addition, the group demands that any politicians, bodyguards, or other law enforcement personnel who may have utilized guns turn them in.
David Nduati, 26, was shot and killed during the event at the Kamenu ward proposed market location. Anthony Kamau, another guy, was critically hurt by a bullet that went through his chest.
According to a medical professional, the bullet pierced a critical organ and entered the chest cavity.
He will be moved to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), according to plans.
